I'm with G on this. Metal drums are soooooooooo cool. Punk metal?... not so much.

Industrial metal, progressive metal... yeah. We defo need to get a synthesizer and vocoder!

Eighties metal rules!!

But I'd rather avoid punk as the basslines tend to require one to hate oneself through boredom and there's not a lot one can do to invigorate them.
