Song Idea's

Post  Nap1st on Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:01 pm

So we had a curious idea for a song based on Urban Myths. Apparently Cheese, gives you nightmares, cheese, gives you nightmares, cheese gives you nightmares, no it doesn't, that's just an urban myth, an urban myth, an urban myth, though I keep think it sounds like nightmare off Rock Band.

But I remember one of our rules and i think this falls under the list of comedy. At work though I'm currently jotting down various lines of "acerbic songs with ironic lyrics in the style of Nine inch Nails and Tool" I have one jotted down already, though I think it could do with a chorus. Annoyingly in my head is queens of the stone age and Go with the flow!

Anyway, I know I've had some requests for song lyric idea's, but while I'm writing the random lines at home, what else would you like me to write about?

"Write what you know" was one of the best pieces of advice I ever had.

I'd prefer to write songs with the main feeling/mood as passive aggressive. Even the softer song we played with last night had fatalistic undertones.

BUT that doesn't mean I can't write you a bouncy, jolly riff... I'm just saying that the majority of my input will be as above, so if you want to gear your lyrics in any particular direction for those songs, that's the mood to go for (a nice, calm anger!).

So yeah, write what you know. What boils *your* blood. It's you who's got to sing it and mean it - there's no use singing about how upset you are that the new Transformers was a total fucking let-down bastardisation of the original comic series because it just wouldn't be true to you and you might feel like a bit of a prat trying to put that across to others on stage!
